Actix prevents mobile operators from ‘flying blind’ with LTE

May 20, 2017

UK-based Actix yesterday unveiled new technology for testing LTE networks, enabling mobile operators to deploy LTE without ‘flying blind’.

Actix’s LTE drive test product is an optimisation and benchmarking solution for LTE deployments, and is the first available test drive solution that uses LTE specific measurements.

Drive test solutions enable mobile operators to quickly and cost effectively plan and launch new networks.

With many LTE networks currently at early deployment stage, Actix’s new product is set to play a crucial role.

“The absence of existing data on live LTE networks means that operators are in danger of ‘flying blind’ when deploying LTE,” said Chris Larmour, Actix’s chief marketing officer.

“Just as 3G saw a new generation of drive test optimisation and benchmarking, so LTE is necessitating an even bigger step in technology.”

Larmour added that by launching the world’s first drive test for LTC, Actix has “set the pace” for other network status manager solutions providers.
